A delicate, lacy-leafed herb with profound flavor, Cliantro seeds are known as coriander. Native to the Mediterranean, Cilantro was widely used in Medieval European cuisine, but now is more prevalent now in Asian, Middle Eastern, Indian and Latin American cuisines. Heat will diminish the flavor of the leaves somewhat, however Cilantro lends stunning, rich flavor to rice dishes and soups. It blends well with fats, making it excellent in cream sauces, composed butters and guacamole.
