Description

Spanish for "rattle," the Cascabel pepper has seeds that separate from the pod and rattle around the inside of the dried chile. A 4 on the heat scale, the Cascabel comes in at 8,000 to 12,000 Scoville units. Best for medium-heat applications, and should be removed once the heat level is reached, due to its thick skin.
