Since 1962, father and son team, Louis and Mike Iacopi, have been farming in the cool, seaside region of Half Moon Bay. They grow a wide-selection of high quality produce but are best known for their fresh shelling and dry bean varieties such as Italian Butter, Borlotti, Cranberry, and Cannellini. About half of their crop is “dry farmed,” which means it has no access to water. Iacopi Farms has developed specialized moisture enhancing and soil tilling techniques that enable seeds to grow without added irrigation.
