Provide the highest level of service to Greenleaf’s customers to ensure that their expectations are met.
- Existing Business Retention: Develop relationships with all customers in the territory to understand their business and meet/exceed their needs. Anticipate problems before they arise; manage current and future orders with the goal of achieving 100% order fill; use expert product knowledge to make appropriate substitutions and add lines to each order.
- Phone and email sales: The position requires constant communication with customers, entering live call and email orders; making product recommendations; developing and maintaining relationships, then utilizing those relationships to retain sales.
- Problem Solving: Anticipate product and service issues before they arise; find solutions that are a win-win for both Greenleaf and the customer; inform customers about product shortages and other service issues; provide substitute options and increase order size via suggestive selling.
- Use CRM to enter all sales-related follow up notes from customer calls and tasks.
- Communicate with OSR via phone, email, and CRM to inform them of necessary information from customer interactions.
- Attend meetings and product/sales training to continually improve skills.
- Collaborate with internal departments: Sales, Operations, Delivery, and Buyers to ensure that customers’ needs are being met within Greenleaf’s expectations.
- Must be able to manage business in existing accounts by making compelling product presentations and selling on value; engage the customer using suggestive selling with the goal of retaining Greenleaf’s market share.
- Support the sales department with additional projects or tasks as needed. This requires the ability to manage short and long-term projects with milestones, goals and clear communication throughout.
- Product Knowledge: Study and maintain knowledge of Greenleaf’s dynamic and seasonal product catalog. Understand the quality standards for each product, the practical application for those products, and the menu of each customer using them. Product expertise must encompass all of Greenleaf’s categories and is one of the top skills that sets Greenleaf apart from its competitors.
- Must have a minimum of two years proven sales and/or customer service experience
- Excellent communication skills: Written, verbal, phone, email, text
- Knowledge of Produce, Dairy, Cheese, Specialty and Protein products

The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) is responsible for managing and developing the account sales within their territory. He or she will achieve their goals by acquiring and onboarding new accounts and by increasing market share in existing accounts. The OSR is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of their territory, and will achieve it by generating new account leads, making compelling product presentations to chefs/buyers, and consistently closing each business opportunity while maintaining the highest standards of excellence. Responsibilities:
- New business development: This is the key activity that will drive growth; includes identifying prospective new accounts, making effective presentations with key decision-makers, qualifying and closing new customers.
- Existing account development: Must be able to build business in existing accounts by selling against the competition; make compelling product presentations; use expert product knowledge to sell on value.
- Customer service: In order to meet the needs of chefs who work long hours, you must be comfortable with a varied schedule consisting of cold calling and making face-to-face sales presentations with prospects and customers in their work environment.
- Forecasting/Analysis: Identify competitive business trends and develop a strategic plan to capitalize on them within each account using a range of tactics such as active listening and suggestive selling.
- Communication: Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with a broad range of customers and fellow employees.
- Collaboration: This position requires a strong collaborator who can manage internal relationships within the company, such as Operations, Purchasing, and Accounting to ensure that customers receive optimal service.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years restaurant or food industry experience
- Possess above-average food product knowledge, especially produce, cheese, and specialty foods
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, flexible environment; be able to proactively influence a customer’s buying behavior; prioritize long term business development projects while reacting to the urgent demands of the day-to-day
- 3+ years in a sales/business development role preferred
- Valid California Drivers License and a clean driving record
Skills:

The Position:
The receiver ensures that GreenLeaf receives the absolute best produce for customers and makes sure that these products meet the company’s high expectations. He/she controls the right rotation of the product, productivity, and the training of the team (stock porters). This position works closely with the buyers, stock porters and supervisors. Follows the HACCP program.
Responsibilities:
· Walks the warehouse and checks product stock
· Attends daily shift meeting; follows daily exercise program
· Ensures all products are good and fresh
· Ensures driver’s load sheets match the incoming load sheets
· Records any problems on a daily log
· Checks temperatures of product and records on log
· Ensures all products are labeled and stamped properly
· Ensures all products are rotated and being used properly
· Works on pick sequence
· Checks SF and SSF trucks
· Enters all tags in the computer
· Checks routes
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Must have three years’ experience in the produce industry.
